Testimonials

I can assure you we will continue to fit the Pinpoint tracking system to our equipment

Just a note to thank you for your assistance and time in gathering the information for our stolen Skid steer loader.

I am happy to say that Byron Bay Police executed a search warrant on the location at which our skid steer was last detected by your system and they found our skid steer along with several other stolen pieces of earthmoving equipment.

This has again highlighted the benefits of the system to our company and I can assure you we will continue to fit the Pinpoint tracking system to our equipment.

With Pinpoint GPS tracking "A stolen Excavator was recovered within 2 hours of being reported missing"

"A stolen Excavator was recovered within 2 hours of being reported missing by using the Pinpoint AVM system. The AVM system has saved our company and our customers from the potential loss of several days work, not to mention the insurance excess cost and inevitable hike in premiums. It turned out we were back to work in 2 hours!"

Jon Arnot, Hireway Rentals

"the Pinpoint GPS AVM system has proved invaluable in recovering over $50,000 worth of equipment"

During the recent HRIA Convention a HRIA member visited the Pinpoint Communications stand and asked to log onto their AVM GPS tracking system to investigate the location of a Bob Cat that they suspected had been stolen by the use of identity fraud. Unable to contact the hirer they used the Pinpoint AVM GPS system to quickly identify the location of the Asset and sent branch staff to recover the unit.

By using the Pinpoint AVM system the customer was able to recover the asset and prevent the loss of revenue and/or the asset itself.

The next day! The same member contacted Pinpoint, with a report that a generator had just been reported stolen off a customer site overnight.

After logging onto the Pinpoint AVM system they immediately saw an ‘outside hours’ alarm for the Generator, recording that it had been moved at 00:45. The GPS had tracked the equipment to a residential house. Later that morning Police and a branch representative drove by the house and were able to identify the generator parked in a garage.

The Generator had already had the company decals stripped and was being prepared for re-birthing. Subsequent to the recovery of the generator, Police have arrested a suspect.

The HRIA member has requested anonymity as a way of keeping one step ahead of would be thieves of their equipment, and was prepared to offer the following quote:

"the Pinpoint AVM system has proved invaluable in recovering over $50,000 worth of equipment in just two days. The stolen equipment is now back on the customer site keeping our customer happy and earning us revenue. The saving delivered by the AVM system has justified the investment in the Pinpoint system many times over"

Case Studies

Since installing the Pinpoint AVM our patrolmen and cars are sticking to the designated routes and productivity has improved

The Bahrain Police force wanted to improve their response time to Police call outs and gain better visibility of where their car and foot patrol police were located. They also felt that productivity gains could be made, resulting in better public visibility of the Police force.

Atlas Telecom and Pinpoint Communications came up with an innovative Vehicle Tracking Solution that would leverage the existing TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked Radio) radio network that the cars and portables were already using.

The Pinpoint Tracker 2000 series has the ability to not only pinpoint the exact location of the police vehicle or portable units (via GPS) it also has a compatible interface with the TETRA network that enable the data to be sent to the vehicle tracking server.

"The use of TETRA as the digital carrier for data from the Tracker 2000 has enabled Bahrain Police to leverage an existing investment saving money and on-going telecommunications costs"

Dispatch operators at Bahrain Police can now track the exact location, speed and direction of a patrol car or foot patrolman. They can then identify the closest patrolman and direct to the location. The added benefit is the operator can immediately inform other officers or customers of the exact ETA of the patrol car or foot patrol.

"Since installing the Pinpoint AVM our patrolmen and cars are sticking to the designated routes and productivity has improved."

Reports on a wide range of criteria provide detailed management information that can help improve route planning; resource levels; patrol car misuse and actual path travelled.

A unique feature of the Pinpoint system is the enhanced resolution feature. At present we log reports via TETRA every 15 seconds, this gives us pretty good real time information. However in the event of siren been turned on we wanted more current information. Pinpoint and Atlas Telecom came up with the a solution that enabled this trigger to switch transmission to every 5 seconds, this greatly enhances our resolution and allows dispatch operators and command officers to monitor the situation on a near real time basis.

"Our officer’s sense of security has been greatly enhanced as they know that the command post has up to date information about their location and status"

The Bahrain Police have installed over 500 vehicle tracking units in patrol cars and 200 personal tracking via a GPS enabled Tetra handset.

With GPS Tracking "(drivers have) been quick to comply with the company rules on use of vehicles and sticking to the designated routes. As a result we have seen a huge improvement of on-time deliveries and reduction in fuel costs"

Gulf News has been using Pinpoint’s AVM vehicle tracking system for the past 2 years to help them improve customer service, driver productivity and reduce private use of company delivery vehicles.

Atlas Telecom installed and configured the Pinpoint Tracker Series 2000 in all 88 Gulf News delivery vans. As a Pinpoint partner, Atlas also delivered and manages the Pinpoint Server as a managed service to Gulf News.

The managed service has enabled Gulf News to quickly install Pinpoint AVM and start gaining return on their investment immediately. The Pinpoint AVM service is delivered to Gulf News via an Internet client that provides the full features of the tracking system at any Gulf News internet PC; and is secured by user and password authentication.

Since installing the Tracker 2000 series they have been able to measure the performance of each driver and his designated route.

"Once the drivers realised they were being monitored, they have been quick to comply with the company rules on use of delivery vehicles and sticking to the designated routes. As a result we have seen a huge improvement of on-time deliveries and reduction in fuel costs"

Gulf News also found the simple to use internet interface has enabled the dispatch operator to quickly learn the system as part of his day to day information system. Before installing the Pinpoint Tracker 2000 our operators would take a message from our customers and call the driver on his cell phone to verify location.

The dispatch operator can now respond to client delivery enquiries immediately and with real time information about the location of the customer’s delivery.
